Alabama Department of Insurance License Updates Insurance Pre-License Requirements

Recently, Alabama Department of insurance license has updated the Alabama insurance license requirements for the residents of the state of Alabama. Here’s the gist of the story:

Alabama Insurance License Requirements:

Life Insurance License – 20 hour course on Life Insurance or 40 hour course on Life & Health Insurance
Accident & Health or Sickness (Disability) Insurance License – 20 hour course on Health Insurance or 40 hour course on Life & Health Insurance
Combined Life / Accident & Health or Sickness (Disability) Insurance License – 40 hour course on Life & Health Insurance
Variable Life & Variable Annuity Insurance License – 20 hour course on Variable Life & Variable Annuity
Automobile Full Coverage Insurance License – 20 hour course on Automobile Insurance, or 20-hour course on Personal Lines Insurance, or 40 hour course on Property & Casualty Insurance
Combined Property & Casualty Insurance License – 40 hour course on Property & Casualty Insurance
Personal Lines Insurance License – 20 hour course on Personal Lines Insurance or 40 hour course on Property & Casualty Insurance Bail Bonds – 20 hour course on Bail Bonds

These changes are fairly recent and have taken effect. If you want to get insurance agent license in Alabama for any of the above designation, you will need to complete the above mentioned study requirements before taking the Alabama state insurance license exam.
